- The Conciergerie remains closed on January 1, May 1, and December 25.
- Note: Entry to the Conciergerie is free on European Heritage Days (3rd weekend of September) and the 1st Sunday of the month (January to March and November to December).
Admission to the Conciergerie is free on National Heritage Days and on the first Sunday of every month, so you can expect huge crowds on these days. We recommend that you avoid booking your visit during these days for a pleasant experience. The Conciergerie is also more crowded during the weekends, especially during the peak season. If you want a less crowded experience with shorter wait times, we suggest you visit the Conciergerie during the week.
While the best time to visit the Conciergerie is between April and June and and between October and early November, it's also when Paris sees the most visitors due to the pleasant climate, with higher travel and accommodation expenses. If you want to beat the crowd and get cheaper accommodation and travel, we recommend that you visit the Conciergerie during December, January, or February, as it ensures a cheaper and less crowded experience.
