South Entrance

Where is it? The Gardens

Entrance 1 of the Eiffel Tower is the one at the South Pillar. You will pass through a security check here. This entrance is for those who wish to take the stairs. You can buy tickets for the stairs up to the 2nd floor, or for the stair + lift to the top (blue flag).

How to Reach: Get down at the Bir-Hakeim stop or Trocadero Metro station and walk directly to the entrance. You can also take buses 72, 82, and 30, and alight at the Eiffel Tower stop or 86 and 69 at the Champ de Mars stop.

Entrance Timings: The entrance is open from 9 AM to 11:45 PM.

East Entrance

Where is it? The Gardens

This is the second entrance to the Eiffel Tower. You will pass through the first security checks here. This entrance tends to be less crowded so make a beeline for this entry point to cut down on the wait time.

This is also the entrance to take if you wish to take the lift to the top. Visitors with tickets should join the queues with a green flag and those wishing to purchase tickets should stand in the line at the ticket office marked by the yellow flag.

How to Reach: You can gain entry directly if you take Bus 42, or if you take line 8 of the metro and alight at the Ecole Militaire station.

Entrance Timings: The entrance is open from 9 AM to 11:45 PM.

Average Wait Time: If you have tickets, you will be able to enter the tower in 10 minutes. Without early reservations, the wait time can vary based on the date of your visit.

Which Eiffel Tower Entrance to Choose? 

The choice of the entrance depends on whether you would prefer to take the stairs or the elevator to the top. If you are traveling without children and have no pertinent health issues, we would recommend the South Entrance. This also gives you the option of taking the stairs to the second floor and a lift to the summit. However, if you wish to avoid crowds, head to the East entrance.

Entrance: East and West Pillars

This line is reserved for ticket holders who wish to take a lift to the top of the Eiffel Tower. You will be able to enjoy direct access to the leg's entrance from here.

Queue 3 (Yellow Flag)

Entrance: East and West Pillars

Visitors who wish to take a lift but do not have tickets should join this queue marked by the yellow flag. This will take you to the ticket office.

Disabled Access

Visitors with disabilities are advised to present themselves to the Eiffel Tower staff for quicker service. The suitable entry point would be from the West Pillar, where one can access the lift to the second floor. Those wishing to purchase tickets from the venue can either head to the Information Point, where payment can be made using a credit/debit card, or to the ticket office, where payment in cash or by credit/debit card is accepted.

The Information Point and other ticket counters are fitted with hearing loops for hearing aid users.

NOTE: While the Eiffel Tower has adapted some facilities for visitors with disabilities, the top of the tower is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
