At first glance, Normandy appears to be a quiet seaside town, with a picturesque coastline and stunning natural scenery. So what makes this one of the most popular day trips from Paris?

On June 6, 1944, the Normandy landings, one of history’s momentous events, took place in Normandy. These landings changed the course of World War II and eventually led to Germany's surrender.
Normandy D-Day tours guide you through the historic sites of this pivotal event, established to honor and commemorate the lives of the fallen soldiers.

Things to know before booking your Normandy tour

  1. All the day trips mentioned above are guided tours (led by an expert English-speaking guide) and round-trip transfers (in an air-conditioned minibus/coach) from Paris.
  2. Each tour covers landmarks associated with D-Day. So how do you decide which tour is right for you?
Group size: A big decider. If you prefer a more intimate experience, opt for a semi-private guided tour which allows a maximum of 8 people. If you don’t mind being part of a larger group (25 people, max), opt for a full-day guided tour and if you’re someone who falls in between the two, pick a premium guided tour that allows a maximum of 15 people.
Landmarks visited: Largely, there are three focussed-tour types:
    - American: Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, US War Memorial, and Pointe du Hoc battlefield
    - Canadian: Juno Beach and Canadian battlefields
    - A mix of both: Arromanches and Caen Memorial Museum
  3. With transport and guide sorted on all the trips, want to take it up a notch? Book a standard full-day tour with hotel pickup, including a 3-course lunch and cider tasting at a local barn.
Note: Cider tastings are unavailable on Sundays.
  4. Want to skip the hotel pickup but still want the lunch? Opt for an all day guided tour.
  5. Since a large portion of the tours are on the beaches, they are not wheelchair accessible.
